Domestic Travel Pays Off for South Carolina
Here are a few statistics and observations from the lastest SCPRT economic reports.
* Domestic Travelers spent nearly $9.9 Billion in S.C. in 2008, up 1.7% from 2007.
* Domestic Travel directly generated 113,800 jobs in S.C. in 2008.
* Domestic Travel expenditures in S.C. generated nearly $1.5 Billion in tax revenue.
* Horry County, led by Myrtle Beach's Grand Strand, received more than $3.1 Billion in domestic travel expenditures to lead all S.C. counties. This was almost double the amount received by Charleston County, the #2 recipient.
