Annual North Myrtle Beach Citywide Cleanup Day Set For November 7, 9am-12pm, at the NMB Sanitation Transfer Station

North Myrtle Beach residents are encouraged to participate in the November 7, 9:00 a.m.-12:00 p.m., annual Citywide Home Cleanup Day, sponsored by the Keep North Myrtle Beach Beautiful Commission, North Myrtle Beach Sanitation Department, and City of North Myrtle Beach.

Gregg Barnhill, Operations Director and City Coordinator for Keep North Myrtle Beach Beautiful, stands next to some of the paints, chemicals, jelled gasoline and other hazardous household materials accepted during a previous Citywide Cleanup Day.

The Citywide Home Cleanup Day provides North Myrtle Beach residents with an opportunity to clean out their closets, attics, garages, and storage sheds. During the event, residents may discard unwanted items, including appliances, TVs, furniture, paint, pesticides, chemicals, oil, old tires and more. However, no construction debris or medical waste will be accepted.

Furniture, Appliances, Bulky Items: The City provides a special collection service for furniture, appliances and other bulky items. These items should be placed at curbside for pickup. This service is not regularly scheduled but is provided on an as-needed basis. Please call the Sanitation Division at (843) 280-5500 prior to placing such items at curbside to ensure prompt pickup.

Other Items: Residents must transport all other items to the North Myrtle Beach Sanitation Department Transfer Station located on 2nd Avenue South. (Once on 2nd Avenue South drive toward the Intracoastal Waterway past City Hall and the Aquatic & Fitness Center. The drop off site is on the right hand side of 2nd Avenue South.)

Usable Furniture & Appliances: Please consider donating unwanted usable furniture and appliances to the Salvation Army, Goodwill Industries or local churches. Many of these organizations will pick up items to be donated.

The Keep North Myrtle Beach Beautiful Commission offers a community-based volunteer program to educate and empower the North Myrtle Beach community to personally improve the environment and enhance quality of life and community pride through beautification, litter prevention and recycling.

The Keep North Myrtle Beach Beautiful Commission is an affiliate of Keep America Beautiful.
