Members of Lakeside Baptist Church dropped by the
North Myrtle Beach Department of Public Safety June 22 carrying snacks
for four shifts of personnel.
The
church members said they decided to bring the snacks to the department
as a way of letting department personnel know that they are thinking of
them and praying for them, and they are appreciated by the community.
Public Safety Director Jay Fernandez said that the department appreciates the gesture very much.
“This
was a very welcome gesture on the part of Lakeside Baptist Church, and I
know that it means a lot to each and every man and woman in our
department,” Fernandez said. “We try hard to be positive and proactive
in our community, to build good relationships, and this type of
friendship lets us know that our efforts are noticed and valued.”
