Major Ed Pulido of the Folds of Honor Foundation to present scholarship to Madison Goble, daughter of Purple Heart recipient Cliff Goble

The Tidewater Patriot Day Charity Golf Tournament Committee will hold a June 29, 9:00 a.m. press conference in the atrium at North Myrtle Beach City Hall.  Major Ed Pulido of the Folds of Honor Foundation will present a scholarship to Madison Goble, the nine year old daughter of Purple Heart recipient Cliff Goble.

L-R: Cliff Goble and daughter Madison
Cliff Goble is raising Madison while he strives to make the challenging adjustment from multiple tours of combat duty (U.S. Army) to civilian life after receiving his full disability discharge. The process was made even more difficult when Madison’s mom passed away last year.

Cliff and his extended family agreed that they wanted to give Madison a strong foundation for the future based on their beliefs and sought to enroll Madison in a local private Christian school but found that the cost would be $7,500 annually. Word of their situation soon spread through the area’s very active veterans community, and Tidewater Patriot Day Charity Golf Tournament personnel reached out to the Folds of Honor Foundation for help. As a result, Madison will begin attending a local private Christian school this fall with help from a Folds of Honor scholarship.

Folds of Honor Foundation scholarships are awarded to spouses or dependents of an active duty or reserve soldier, sailor, airman, Marine or Coast Guardsman killed or disabled in the line of duty; an active duty or reserve soldier, sailor, airman, Marine or Coast Guardsman currently classified as a POW or MIA; a veteran who died of any cause after being classified as having a service-connected disability; a service member missing in action or captured by hostile forces in the line of duty; a service member forcibly detained or interned by a foreign power in the line of duty; a service member who received a Purple Heart Medal.
