The City of North Myrtle Beach is preparing an update to its hazard mitigation plan.
City
Council has appointed a Hazard Mitigation Planning Committee to prepare
a draft plan to be considered for adoption. Council has asked the
committee to solicit public input during the preparation of the plan,
and to keep the public informed of its deliberations and
recommendations.
A
second public meeting on the plan will be held by the Hazard Mitigation
Planning Committee on Thursday, July 23, 2015, 5:30 p.m., in the
Training Room at City Hall. The meeting will include a presentation on
the scope of the plan and recommendations expected to be forwarded to
City Council for its consideration.
The draft plan includes recommendations on repetitive loss properties, hurricane and flood preparedness, and other topics.
The
public will be given an opportunity to ask questions and provide
comments. Residents and property owners are encouraged to attend the
meeting.
