During the December 14 North Myrtle Beach City Council meeting, Council
approved second (final) reading of an amendment to the City’s Land
Development Regulations Text pertaining to driveways. The City’s former
regulation stated that a residential driveway may not provide access to
more than one lot. The new regulation changes the definition of
“Driveway” to read: “All private drives typically used to provide
vehicular access to one residential lot, except where South Carolina
Department of Transportation standards require the creation of a shared
driveway.”
Council passed second (final) reading of an amended ordinance
authorizing the establishment of the "Cherry Grove Improvement
District.” The amended ordinance adjusts those assessments in the cases
where Council found it appropriate, confirms all other assessments, and
amends the district boundaries as Council found appropriate. The
ordinance also orders the recording of the assessment roll as amended in
Horry County offices and the sending of a letter to each person who
filed a written objection with the North Myrtle Beach city manager as
outlined in their Notice of Assessment. Click here to download the pdf.
