Retired North Myrtle Beach Public Safety Officer Lt. Guy Johnson has been selected as Grand Marshal for the December 5 North Myrtle Beach Christmas Parade.
Originally from Burlington, NC, Johnson began his career with the City of North Myrtle Beach in 1977 as a an ocean lifeguard. In 1981 he joined the North Myrtle Beach Public Safety Department and continued his service with the City until May 2015 when he retired. Lt. Johnson has two children, Mathew and Stewart. Mathew is a United States Marine currently stationed at Camp Lejeune, and Stewart resides in North Myrtle Beach and is a student at Horry-Georgetown Technical College.
The North Myrtle Beach Christmas Parade will be held Saturday, December 5, 2015, 5:30 p.m. – 7:00 p.m. on Main Street. It is free and open to the public.
